The Workers of Euljiro 3ga, Seoul - 2022 - Print

This was my largest and most ambitions painting, at three meters long with twenty-four subjects. This was the final breath of the Euljiro district of Seoul before it was flattened for high rises. This close-nit group of craftsmen, skilled workers and artisans has been an iconic district of Seoul for two generations, able to fulfill the needs of a growing metropolis. The city has fallen victim to it's own success, and this fine community is now dispersed. The memories and the painting live on.

My goal was to organize a photoshoot with 7-10 people, but then 24 showed up. My street credit earned in 2021 granted me the ability to put this together.
