Chicken Man at Itaewon Station

This painting was done in collaboration with the MBC TV show -First Time in Korea. The TV network wanted to film my painting process, going out into the community and finding subjects and creating the painting. I needed a subject who was willing to play along with the process and agree to be on TV too. My first thought was to use Chicken Man who has been my friend for many years. I’ve illustrated him over the years in my progression of skill and styles, from comics to posters to digital paintings. Now I’ve got him in oil. Since being on TV, he has raised his prices 2,000w. Cheeky devil.
